Absolute WFF 2012 World Bodybuilding Champion Pero Thomas (Khovatia)
WFF World Championship 2011, was held on November 5 in Graz.
The details of the championship and a lot of photos here.
The World Championship is the main competition in any kind of sport. Including bodybuilding and fitness. All previous competitions: regional, national and continental championships, as well as all kinds of cups, are only stages to achieve the ultimate goal: to obtain the title of World Champion.
In Olympic sports, there is one more highest peak – the Olympic Games. For Bodybuilding and fitness, similar peaks will be Universe and Olympia.
As a reminder, an athlete representing his Country at the World Championships is obliged to have the title of “Country Champion”. Otherwise, holding the World Cup loses all its meaning.
And when was the first World Championship in bodybuilding held? Personally, I found the oldest mention of such competitions announced as the “World Championship” in the 1914 news report: the World Championship on Bodybuilding held in St. Petersburg. Konstantin Stepanov, a wonderful Russian bodybuilder, became the World Champion in bodybuilding.
The WFF World Championships traditionally take place every autumn (November).
For the first time, Latvian bodybuilders took part in the World Championship in 1997. They were: Marina Burinska, Aivar Visotskis and Maris Shveiduks.
WFF World Championship 1998:
In 2004, Marina Burinska (Latvia) became the absolute champion of the most numerous World Championships, in the history of bodybuilding and fitness (748 participants from 38 countries)
Alexander Baldin is the absolute WFF 2005 World Champion:
2010 – WFF World Bodybuilding Champion Mario Hemmer.
